We asked our community of Slipper Souls to help us to name our new Velvet Jewel Collection – our gorgeous new range of richly coloured and patterned super-slippers.
What an amazing community it is! We wanted to continue with the theme of cities and asked the Slipper Souls which city or cities the new range evoked for them. We were touched and impressed by the imagination and thought that went into many of the responses. To many, the bright blue design said “sea and sky” and they nominated places like Marseille and Santorini. Lots thought that the cool colours of the cream and gold slippers evoked Scandinavia, while others considered the Chrysanthemum-style pattern to be Oriental and suggested Kyoto or Tokyo.
Interestingly, Istanbul received more nominations than any other city and that is the name that we ultimately picked for our deep pink design.
